A great quote by Leisa Rich:
"I have been looking at little bits in our world. They are wonderful. A small pebble stuck to my shoe, a wad of tough, chewed-up gum on the sidewalk, a shiny swirl of oil on a pond, a shard of twisted metal left from an accident. These “bits”-created by nature or by humans- are largely ignored by a society engrossed in the hyper speed, materialistic and byte-based life of today’s world. There is little time available for noticing these little things or for enjoying small moments when there are dozens of emails to answer. As I began to create my own intimations of these bits, the forms morphed and banded together to create an alternate reality, thus ending up creating a similar multiplicity I sought refuge from. Go figure…"

More Art!!
Here is some more art! This First piece is made out of felt and mesh. It is about 4 feet tall, and actually has a depth of about a foot. It is entitled Devour. I truly need a better photograph of this.

Here are a few abstract drawings I did that are part of my Tributary series. They are large drawings, about 36" maybe?

And for those of you who doubt my drawing abilities, here are some observational nature drawings!!

Ahh! So good to finally get recent work up here. Ugh. I'm hungry. It's time to eat something now. Perhaps it is self centered of me to assume everyone wants to see what I'm working on, but all the same I hope you enjoy!

Retrace- An Exploration of Mapping
Here are some images from my Retrace series. They are all embroidered on silk. They are each 8"x 8". It was a series I made for my Psychogeography class where I explored the idea of space, the space that is given and the space you interact with. Each map has one that is a replica of the actual location, and one that pivots around my exact location in the area.

Here is a piece that is still in process. It is approximately 36" across. It is also embroidery on silk. This piece is an exploration of nomadic space. Yeah...the photo sucks. I know...but I figured there was no point in taking a nice photo if I was just going to make the piece better anyway.

Plans for my current piece...
More Art!
So I decided I needed to post more art. This is, again, just a tiny bit of my art.
ps- want something good to listen to? "anonanimal" has been playing on my computer on repeat for about 3 days...it's gorgeous.

Piece sewn out of silk, cotton, and chiffon.

designs for my lace maps. I'll post the actual lace later.

Part of my photographic series on disappearance.

My First Post
Hey Guys. So this is my first post...I don't have too much to say, other than it's 2 a.m. and I haven't done anything tonight...at least that's how it feels. I did get a chance to hand out snacks to people in their studios...which was exciting. Also, art market was today, so when I get a chance I will update photos of that.
I think for my first post I will add some pictures of my art from last year and the year before. I don't intend on posting much of my earlier work or anything, mostly just current things. So this will just be a little snack for you!

This was a piece from Sophomore year.
And this one here is from freshman year.
And here is a weaving.
